Moon Tide Collective provides writing and editing services, free of charge, to researchers, practitioners, developers and defenders working for a safe, free and open internet in repressive country contexts.

Are you a researcher, practitioner or developer building knowledge about censorship, surveillance, and other ways in which our freedoms of expression and movement online are controlled or inhibited?

Are you sharing information about tools and strategies for circumventing mechanisms that sabotage internet freedom?

Are you developing free and open source technologies designed to enable privacy, online safety, or access to the free and open internet?

If you’ve answered either of the questions above with a resounding, ‘yes!’ – or even whispered a tentative, ‘kinda…?’ – then this offering may be of interest to you!

Moon Tide Collective has partnered with Open Technology Fund to provide defenders of internet freedom and digital rights with editing and writing services, free of charge, that can help visibilise and grow the critical contribution you are making to internet freedom and access.

This partnership stems from a recognised need for editorial support among folks building knowledge and tools to challenge online and technology-facilitated repression.

You may be someone whose brilliance is expressed through how you design, build and play with technology, yet you do not have the writing skills to effectively translate your work into communication materials directed at a non-technological audience.

You may be a technology researcher or practitioner whose first language is not English, and would like to communicate about your work to an English-speaking audience.

You may be a security auditor or a researcher who has finally completed the heavy lifting of compiling your investigation into a research paper or report, and would really appreciate a grammar-geeking copyeditor to review your writing.

Our support includes writing and editing services in the English language, including:
